ARE YOU READY TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR?
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this, we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord, himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (KJV: King James Version)
Should Christians be expecting Jesus Christ's return?
“So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).
Before the Tribulation begins, all Christians should expect Jesus Christ to come and take them to heaven. They keep an eye out for the fulfillment of prophecies, which are also warning signs, while they wait for His return.
We must be living in 'the times of the signs,' because there are so many warning indicators of the approaching Tribulation. Many warning signs have already been presented to us, and there will be many more to come.
God gave Noah and his people 120 years of warning (Genesis 6:3); Lot and his family were given a warning; the Egyptians were given ten warning signs (Exodus 5:1-12:36); Nineveh was given a forty-day warning (Jonah 3:4); and Jesus gave the country of Israel a 37-year warning before her destruction (Matthew 24:1-2).
God warns His people before His judgment, and those who obey are saved. He will do this with precise warning signs before the Tribulation begins, and then rapture them to save them.
“Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).
